Fantastic prizes being offered for our charity raffle tonight!

We’ve been amazed at all the wonderful prizes we have been offered for our raffle. We’ve just been donated a short break at a beautiful holiday cottage in Pembrokeshire by Ann & Gwyn Jones, the owners of Gardens by Design – they’re also giving a winter flower pot as another prize!

Sadiq Khan continues to show his support by offering Tea on the Terrace at Westminster and there are three local restaurants who have given us prizes; Rick’s Restaurant in Tooting, Konningans in Wandsworth Town and Gazette in Balham. Another lucky winner will be enjoying afternoon tea at The Goring Hotel

Furzedown Annual Charity Event – FACE!

FACE is a group of neighbours and friends in the Furzedown area of Tooting, South London, who decided to get together and raise money for causes affecting local people close to us.

With the help of people in Furzedown, FACE raised £5,400 in 2011 to donate to two charities; Motor Neurone Disease Association and St George’s Hospital – to improve the experience of long-stay teenage cancer patients.

We aim to repeat last year’s successful stall events at the Furzedown Festival and the Moyser Road Winter market. Our Quiz night is on the 6th October – so start swotting, plus we’ll be running our grand prize draw again and hope to offer fantastic prizes like last year, such as a city break a cottage weekend, a day trip to France and meals in local restaurants.

The money raised has made a huge difference – St George’s is now planning to provide a dedicated rest and games room for young people undergoing long-term treatment and MNDA has provided therapists, specialist equipment and grants to people and their families in South London.

2012: the BIGGER challenge

This year we are hoping to raise even more money. So we are planning other exciting events which we hope many people will support.
